CELEBRATION OF COMMUNAL HARMONY
“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony” – Mahatma Gandhi

India is a federal constitutional republic governed under a parliamentary system consisting of 29 states and 7 union territories. India is a pluralistic, multilingual, and multi-ethnic society; the country is also home to people with different culture and tradition.

Communal Harmony refers to the harmony, acceptance and love among the people of various communities belonging to different castes, races and religion. It is the most important pre-condition for feeling of Unity and National Integration in India.

The idea behind the celebration of communal harmony is to bring the youth of various communities, living in various parts of the city on one common platform to celebrate the spirit of peace and brotherhood. Songs on peace, humanity, unity and harmony was sung by the young sociology students. The students of Department of Sociology and Social Work enacted a street play stressing the significance of the spirit of communal harmony, in Fatima College campus on November 25,2015.

Rev.Sr.Francis Pauline, Secretary Fatima College presided over the function and Sr.Fatima Mary and Ms.Fernando Delishia Vice Principals, Fatima College. Faculty members of various departments and non teaching staff of the college, students of various departments of our college witnessed the programme and gave feedback that the performance of street theatre has made them to think about the purpose of life by leading the life with Communal Harmony.
